Artist's Description
A very fiery sunset at Summit Cove on Lake Dillon in Colorado. This photo was taken in the summer of 2017 when there were numerous forest fires along the west coast. All the ash in the air turned the skies red. Still snow on the peaks in the background. Summit County is both a winter playground and a summer playground. In the winter, there are 4 major ski areas in the county. Other major ski areas are also nearby such as Vail, Winter Park and Beaver Creek. In the summer, Lake Dillon is a big draw for those who like to sail boat. Also fishing is very good in the lakes and streams. Lots of wildlife in the area including Moose, Mountain Goats, Deer, Elk, Mountain Sheep and more.
Parts of the county were part of the 1859 Gold Rush to the Rockies. Now there is a new Gold Rush to the Rockies each fall when the Aspen Leaves turn to gold.
This is a panorama version of this photo. Perfect for your summer home or cabin.

For more organized viewing please CLICK the GALLERIES LINK Above. I am a Colorado Native as were my parents and grandparents. My first camera was a Kodak Brownie. In about 2000, I got a call from Kodak wanting to know if I liked photography and if I had a computer. I was chosen to be part of a digital camera focus group. This was my first foray into digital photography. Since then I have graduated from point and shoot cameras to DSLR's. My first DSLR...
