Artist's Description
Taken on July 5, 2017 at Summit Cove on Lake Dillon in Colorado. The colors really came out right as the sun was going behind the mountains. Summit County is both a Winter and Summer Playground in Colorado. Skiers, snowboarders and snowshoers flock to the ski areas and winter hiking trails. Keystone, Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, Copper Mountain and Vail are all within Summit County or just beyond the county lines.
In the Summer, Lake Dillon provides a great area for boating, sailing paddleboarding, camping and fishing. Lots of mountain trails attract bicyclist and hikers. Gold originally brought prospectors to the area in 1859. Lots of old mines and ghost towns to explore.
In the fall a new Gold Rush to the Rockies happens each year. The changing of the Aspen is spectacular that draws throngs of leave peepers to Summit County. Elevations go from about 8000 ft to over 14,000 ft. Snow covered peaks can be seen year round.

This was my first foray into digital photography. Since then I have graduated from point and shoot cameras to DSLR's. My first DSLR...
