Artist's Description

Taken along French Gulch Road in Breckenridge, Colorado. Breckenridge was founded in 1859 when gold was discovered in the area. Placer mining started the rush. Once most the mines had shut down, the Gold Dredges began tearing up the river and creek beds leaving miles and miles of river boulder filling the valleys.
