Description
I found this Ferruginous Hawk standing in the snow next to a Prairie Dog Hole. I did some research. The Ferruginous Hawk is the largest hawk in North America. They hunt for their food a bit differently. These hawks will lay next to a Prairie Dog hole with their talons near the entrance. When they hear barking, they know a Prairie Dog is about to emerge, and when it does they grab it.
He is just standing here waiting for lunch to emerge.
